High-Quality Hydraulic Ram Goggle Valve
The valve is crafted under precise conditions to ensure top-quality workmanship. Constructed from welded, fabricated steel, it’s a self-contained unit needing no additional supports other than those required for the main.
The pressure plate features a removable seating ring at one end and a built-in expansion piece at the other. The goggle plate is counter-balanced for quick, easy operation and pivots to allow free-floating movement when the seats are separated.
For installations in brick-lined mains, special steel liners with insulating material can be supplied. All Yosmite Engineering Hydraulic Ram Goggle Valves come as self-contained units, complete with a high-pressure hydraulic pump and all necessary high-pressure piping, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.

Components
  • Ram and Spring: Springs force the seating ring against the goggle plate, while hydraulic rams apply pressure to overcome the springs and any sticking condition. Full seat separation is indicated by a noticeable rise in hydraulic pressure.
  • Expansion Piece: Absorbs movement for seat separation, eliminating the need for a separate piece in the main and adding convenience in valve positioning.
  • Pressure Ring and Plate: The ring on one end of the plate forms a seating ring, while the opposite end contains packing and the expansion piece. Goggle plate seats and sealing rings are replaceable in-line.
  • Goggle Plate Pivot: Counter-balanced and pivoting on a specially designed pin, the goggle plate allows free-floating movement when the seats are separated.
  • Chain Tensioner: The operating chain is kept firm by a chain tensioner, with opposing adjustment nuts regulating the spring force to eliminate slack.
